Save the date for Aaronic Priesthood Camp/High Adventure! Wednesday, July 9 to Saturday, July 12, 2025. Registration is now open! Register HERE before April 15, 2025. This activity will once again be for all Young Men (Deacons, Teachers, and Priests).
We will be staying at Caledonia State Park, touring Gettysburg National Battlefield, and whitewater rafting on the Potomac River. Every evening we will hold spiritual devotionals led by both youth and adults. For one day we will split up into three groups to each do a different activity:
- Rock climbing and rappelling (recommended for older campers)
- Biking (option for anyone prepared to bike ~50 miles)
- Hiking and Fishing (recommended for first-year campers)
During registration, young men will rank their preference for each activity. Stake leaders will make a final decision about each young man's activity group assignment.
Young men with limitations that might prevent them from fully participating in camp are welcome to join us at base camp at Caledonia State Park on Wednesday afternoon for team-building activities and Friday for a tour of Gettysburg National Military Park. Based on the nature of the young man's limitations we may ask that a parent or designated adult leader plan to accompany them one-on-one for these activities.
The stake will be paying for the majority of the expenses, but families and/or wards will also be responsible for making a contribution of $150. We encourage bishops and branch presidents to work with their young men on fundraising projects. We do not want the additional expense to exclude anyone.
Each ward is expected to send at least 2 adult leaders to support camp.
Please note that parents of all young men attending High Adventure must complete an LDS Permission and Medical Release Form, and all young men should be able to complete a BSA Swim Test. Adult leaders should fill out a Permission and Medical Release form as well so that we can be aware of any major medical conditions.
Please also note that any young men who will be 18 by July 9, 2025 will need to complete their child abuse clearances as required for all adult leaders, and will need to complete the LDS youth protection training at ProtectingChildren.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
More information will be available at this website in the coming months.
